My burger

This is going to be a little different from my other posts so far as it's something I made rather than found and ate... but oh my god it was so so so so good! I couldn't believe it! I had been craving a burger for so long and this just hit every spot!

Here it is, from all angles and getting its best side! And yes, that is homemade sweet potato fries as I dont like regular chips all that much... except this night actually! My dad cooked some crinkle cut chips in the bacon juice.... holy shit... there are no words!

So to make these beauties we first got a pack of lean minced beef, some herbs, spices, a little salt and pepper, a good glug of worchestershire sauce and about two handfuls of cheddar cheese grated... mix that up and make into patties.

Then on baking trays lay streaky bacon fully stretched out and pop them in the oven with whatever prefered chips you like :)

In a heated pan, pour a glug of oil and stick your patties down, they should sizzle and brown almost straight away. Flip and cook to desired amount. Whils doing we put the buns, sliced into the grill until golden, we used scotch morning rolls, and I'd highly reccomend them!

Then whilst still in the pan I put a couple of fat slices of jalapeno on each burger, follwed by an equally fat slice of cheese each and pop under the pre heated grill, let that melt and assemble you bun!

Also, check your bacon and chips, they should be good and the bacon beautifully crispy!

Into mine, I put a good dollop of american mustard onto the bottom, follwed by shredded lettuce and a tomato slice, then from the oven I got a piece of crispy bacon, followed by a burger, cheese side up, then bacon, then burger, then bacon, then another tomato slice, and on my top bun, a lovely dollop of spicy chilli mayo!

It was IN-CRED-IB-LE!!!!!!

Golden Oreos

I understand that these are far from new, but i couldn't believe my luck when looking in a tiny tesco I'd never taken notice of before I found that they had a fairly extensive american imports range! I've wanted to try golden oreos for quite some time now and a pack of 6 for £1 seemed a fine price to pay, especially being cold and hungry... So unfortunately I dont have a full packet to take a picture of as in the excitement I'd already ripped open and pulled out two cookies before I'd even left the shop!

Upon opening I thought they looked quite small although its been a long time since i actually ate an oreo so I guess they could be the same size.

Upon opening them I was met with a delicious and very strong vanilla scent, which carried through brilliantly with actually eating them! It was much like a custard cream in taste, which I guess I should've expected due to custard effectively being vanilla! And for anyone that knows me, custard creams are my favourite! I actually found these to be very similar in taste to a custard cream, although the cream is quite a bit sweeter and I think a bit milkier in texture and the cookie itself was amazing! Unlike the softer, slightly cakey texture of a custard cream, I found these to be crisp and mixed with the super creamy cream (dont comment) it was delicious. I think as well, that although its been quite some time, there is more filling to these than a regular oreo, which I loved as I find oreos can be quite dry... although maybe I should try the Double stuff variety.

Overall I absolutely loved these and found them to be extremely moreish! And would recommend them to any biscuit lover, especially of the custard cream varitey!
